Eric’s relatively low-key, calm demeanor tends to counterbalance the high-stakes, high-stress nature of litigation.
His first decade practicing law was concentrated on insurance defense where he learned quickly to love the variability of litigation. Most recently, in addition to litigation, Eric’s practice evolved to incorporate transactional work such as general business counsel, contracts, business mergers and acquisitions, secured loan documentation, commercial real estate, estate planning, and estate administration. At Ruder Ware, Eric will resume his focus on litigation representing a wide range of clients in complex litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout Wisconsin and other states.
Examples of Eric’s litigation representations include:
- Electric utility companies and cooperatives in claims involving electricity and property damage across the Midwest.
- Feed manufacturers in product claims across the country.
- Secured creditors in bankruptcy matters.
- Business non-compete and trade secret disputes.
- Collection matters including commercial and residential foreclosures.
- Transportation brokers in claims involving damaged cargo.
- Construction disputes.
- Agricultural losses.
- Timber trespass claims.
- Heirs and beneficiaries in estate litigation.
Competition is something Eric enjoys and while he chooses not to play his favorite sport (basketball) any longer due to knee issues, he remains an avid sports fan and enjoys sand volleyball and golf.
