Prior to joining Ruder Ware, Mike worked for two of the largest law firms in St. Louis as an Intellectual Property Specialist and as an Intellectual Property Docket Clerk.  In his role as paralegal, Mike will continue his work in the intellectual property area assisting with patent annuity payments and the tracking of trademark renewals.  In addition, he will assist the firm’s business attorneys with the formation of different business entities, maintain corporate records, and assist with ongoing legal compliance.  Mike will also provide support to our estate planning team on probate and trust administration.

Mike loves music, specifically hard rock and heavy metal, and is looking forward to getting back to the annual Rock Fest in Cadott.  A veteran runner who’s completed three full marathons and a dozen half-marathons, Mike prefers to run in meditative silence, disconnected from any electronic device.  He and his wife, Mary Jane Thomsen, the executive director at the Northwest Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross, look forward to networking and getting to know the Eau Claire community.
